Senator Ali Ndume has described the controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s academic credentials as a distraction ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ndume said the debate over the President’s educational records should not overshadow the major issues confronting the country.

The senator urged political actors and Nigerians to focus more on governance, economic development and the welfare of citizens.
According to him, the electorate should assess political leaders based on their performance, policies and ability to address the challenges facing the country.
Ndume maintained that the controversy over Tinubu’s academic credentials was being amplified for political reasons ahead of the 2027 election.
He called on politicians to engage in issue-based campaigns and present practical solutions to Nigeria’s problems rather than concentrating on personal matters.
The senator’s comments come amid renewed political activities and growing opposition to the Tinubu administration as parties prepare for the 2027 general elections.
