Ex Ukraine striker, Andriy Shevchenko has come out to call for the end to the war between his country and Russia. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, the fact that kids are dying and members of his own family remain in Kyiv is enough reason for him to want a stop to the war.
He added that football doesn’t exist for him anymore and he needs more decisive action to be taken by nations around the world in a bid to stop political unrest from spiralling out of control.
His words, “I’m so proud to be Ukrainian. It’s a very difficult moment for my country, my people, my family.”
“My mum and sister are in Kyiv at the moment, and terrible things have happened there. People dying, children dying, missiles pointing into our houses.”
“We need to stop this war, we need to find a way to stop the war.”
