Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a former Secretary to the State Government of Edo State, has announced his candidacy for the 2024 governorship race in the state.
Ize-Iyamu revealed his decision to run for governor again under the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday.
He reiterated his commitment to his previous SIMPLE agenda, focusing on Security, Infrastructure Development, Manpower Development, Public/Private Partnership, Leadership by Example, and Employment Creation.

This marks Ize-Iyamu’s third attempt at the Edo governorship office.
In 2020, he contested under the APC but was defeated by Governor Godwin Obaseki, who ran on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
During his declaration, Ize-Iyamu expressed confidence in his ability to govern, citing his experience as a former Secretary to the State Government and a previous gubernatorial candidate of the party.
He also attributed his loss in the 2020 election to the voting decisions of party leaders from outside the state.
