Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed four people in Mbachon and Mbagbe communities in Turan, Yaav Council Ward, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.
The incident occurred around 5 pm on Saturday as residents were preparing to settle down in their compounds.
According to a community member named Lawrence Akerigba, the gunmen invaded the communities and opened fire, resulting in the deaths of four individuals.

One body was evacuated for burial, while three others were reported missing. Additionally, one person was abducted during the attack.
Kwande Local Government Area, which shares a boundary with Taraba State, has reportedly been experiencing herdsmen attacks for 15 years.
Akerigba highlighted the challenges faced by residents, noting that in Moon District, farming activities have been disrupted for 16 years due to encroachment by herdsmen.
Akerigba called on security agencies to protect farmers and allow them to return to their farms, especially now that the rainy season has begun, to prevent food scarcity.
When contacted, the Benue Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, stated that she had not received a report on the killings.
