    Four quits Federal Executive Council

     Four ministers removed

     Four persons have been relieved of their appointments in the Federal Executive Council in Nigeria. 

    The affected persons include Princess Stella Oduah who was till the announcement of the removal, the Aviation Minister;  Godsday Orubebe, who was the Niger-Delta Minister, and retired Capt. Caleb Olubolade, who was the Police Affairs Minister. Also removed, was Yerima Ngama, who was the  Minister of State for Finance.

    According to Mr. Labaran Maku, Nigeria’s Information Minister, the Minister of State for Trade and Investments, Mr. Samuel Ortom will take charge of the Ministry of Aviation, Mr. Darius Isiaku will oversee affairs at the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, while FCT Minister of state, Olajumoke Akinjide will run the Ministry of Police Affairs. The Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is expected to take full charge of the Ministry of Finance following the removal of Yerima.  Substantive Ministers are expected to be appointment to replace the deposed Ministers.

    Maku said the President removed the Ministers because they had indicated that they wanted to pursue other opportunities.
