Barcelona manager, Xavi has come out to say that losing Gavi was a dagger in the heart to his side. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the club is definitely missing Gavi’s leadership on the pitch because he is the soul of the team, and since he left, Barcelona has not been the same.
Xavi added that the team is also missing Marc-Andre Ter Stegen as he is one of the club’s captains.
His words, “We lack Gavi’s leadership, his heart. The injury to Gavi is a dagger in the heart. He is the soul of the team. That’s the reality. The loss of [Marc-Andre] Ter Stegen as well, one of the captains. It’s not an excuse, it’s the reality.”
On if he has lost the dressing room, “The day they [the players] are no longer with me, I will leave. We have to wipe the slate clean. We have always believed. I have explained my reality and what I experience at the club. When they signed me in Qatar they told me it was one of the worst moments in history, and we are reviving it. I am calm, with three titles still to play for. With the same enthusiasm as the first day. But I understand the criticism. I know where I am.”
“I thank Pep for his kind words, I have sent him a message. He knows how difficult it is to coach this club. We have to be united. Together we are strong, that’s the motto.”
WOW.
