Following claims that he has been selling posts in the government of President Bola Tinubu to the highest bidder, there have been indications that the days of the Chief of Staff (CoS) to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, might be limited. This comes after it was said that he has been trading off appointments in the government.
InfoStride News has learned that Tinubu’s supporters are becoming increasingly vocal about their desire to ensure that Gbajabiamila is coaxed out of the Presidential Villa. These supporters are adamant about achieving this goal.
You may remember that the President selected 10 Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the previous week.

However, according to information acquired by DAILY POST, since Tinubu has taken office, the Chief of Staff has allegedly replaced the majority of the names that were approved by the President for appointments.
According to a source, one of these situations involved the change of the name of the Ekiti Resident Electoral Commissioner with the name of a former commissioner who served under the most recent Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi.
The insider stated that the following: “The REC from Ekiti that he (Gbajabiamila) put there, the man was Fayemi’s former commissioner, but that was not the person Asiwaju signed off on.” Toyin (Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola), who had previously served as INEC’s Legal Adviser, was the one who Asiwaju gave his approval to.
“However, after the announcement was made, two members of the President’s cabinet met with him to complain that the person they had selected had been replaced with another individual. The President expressed his outrage by claiming that he had double-checked the name of the woman before signing the list.
“He called his Chief of Staff, but when he arrived, he was stuttered,” she said. The President requested that he deliver the list that he had previously signed.
“As stated by the President, it is true, contrary to what he has been led to believe, that every time he signs something, it will be amended. The President described three different occasions in which he had signed for something that later had its terms altered. He was embarrassed and issued a final caution to him. It was at his direction that the lady’s name be included on the list.
In addition, the insider mentioned that there was a strategy in place to make Gbajabiamila’s exit from the Villa as smooth as possible.
This must be the fifth time that the Council of Secretaries has embarrassed the President. According to the source, there is a plan to give him an ambassadorial role in order to make his transition out of Villa more manageable.
According to another source, the President’s Private Principal Secretary, Akeem Okunola, was already working on some of the President’s responsibilities.
In addition, it was learned that the President was already working on putting together a group that will be of assistance to the CoS.
“The National Social Investments Programme (NSIP) issue, too, that wasn’t the person Asiwaju recommended for the position,” the insider emphasised. Asiwaju suggested going with Halima Sheu as the best option. Sheu was terminated from her position as a result of Sadiya Farouq, the most recent Minister of Finance, discovering that she was lobbying on our behalf. Asiwaju made the promise to her when she was fired that he would restore her to the same position or a higher one.
