The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said members of the party were prepared to resist any form of rigging in next month’s elections in the state.
Chairman of the state chapter of the APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye, while speaking at a radio programme in Enugu, tagged Political Voices, said: “It will not be business as usual in these elections. Our votes must count, because the change our people have been yearning for is here, and we must embrace it through APC.”
Nwoye, who is also running for Senate for Enugu East district, warned those plotting to rig at the state and national level to drop the idea, as it would backfire.
Speaking on why he is running for election, the party chairman said it was because his opponents from other political parties had nothing to offer. This encouraged him to challenge them to a media debate.
“It is on record that those that have been representing Enugu East have remained political disasters to the people of the zone. If given the mandate, I am going to attract international donor agencies that will boost the educational sector of Enugu state.
“Especially the Institute of Management and Technology, IMT, and, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, that is presently in terrible shape,” he promised.
