    .
The diminutive striker who broke his 13-month goal duck with the opener for Ghana in the 3-1 win over Togo last Wednesday would be in line for his debut appearance in a Nations Cup tournament in January.
    .
Waris, a member of the Black Stars’ poor 2014 World Cup display in Brazil believes the Equato-Guinean Afcon is an opportunity for the team to show they are the best on the continent.
    .
“This Afcon is an opportunity for some of us the players to go and correct the mistakes we made at the World Cup, make Ghana proud and make everyone know that we are still the best team in Africa,” the attacker said.
    .
“Everyone wants to be there so I believe we are going to work 100% at our clubs to be able to make the final squad,” he added.
    .
Ghana will know its group opponents for the 2015 Nations Cup when the draw for the competition is held in Malabo on December 3.
