Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has directed all recently reassigned commissioners to finalize the handover of their responsibilities by the close of business on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
This directive was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Malam Sanusi Dawakin Tofa. According to the statement, the cabinet reshuffle will take full effect at the next Executive Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
The governor emphasized that all affected commissioners must complete the transition process between Monday, December 16, and Tuesday, December 17, to ensure minimal disruption to government activities.

Governor Yusuf further urged the State Executive Council to demonstrate renewed dedication and teamwork in fulfilling the administration’s promises to the people of Kano.
“The spirit of teamwork, dedication, and commitment remains crucial for achieving our collective goal of serving the good people of Kano,” Yusuf stated.
The cabinet reshuffle is part of the governor’s broader strategy to enhance governance in the state. Last Thursday, Yusuf abolished the Office of Chief of Staff, removed the Secretary to the State Government, and dismissed five commissioners as part of the restructuring process.
