Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, recently put the finishing touches on the reopening of three highways in Aba that had been renovated by the state.
The governor inaugurated three new roads on Sunday: MCC by Old Express Road, Umuimo Road, and Udeagbala Road. Udeagbala Road is a bypass that travels through the Abia State University Teaching Hospital and removes traffic from the congested roadways in Aba.
MCC by Old Express Road is one of the routes that was inaugurated.

During his speech at the events, the Governor of Abia stated that the successful completion of the projects would contribute to the revitalization of the economy of the state. He also mentioned that his administration is creating infrastructure that is robust and long-lasting.
Otti, who stated that many road projects in Aba were awarded to “inexperienced construction companies” un the past, stated that his administration was meticulous in picking tested civil engineering firms for the three highways. He said this because his administration was concerned about safety.
He mentioned that the construction of the roads was one of the campaign promises that he made to the people living in Aba and the investors there.
The ongoing road construction and restoration initiative that the governor of Abia State is overseeing will, according to his assurances, not skip over any region of the state.
Otti, who stated that he is only answerable to God and the people who elected him, pledged to build additional roads in the city of Enyimba. He also stated that he is only answerable to God and the people who elected him.
Therefore, he charged the people of Aba with the responsibility of paying their taxes on a consistent basis to the government, so that he could construct other buildings.
