The governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has spoken out against the violence in the Ayilamo and Mbachohon communities in the Logo and Gwer-West local government areas.
InfoStride News has learned that on Tuesday night, armed guys who have been killing innocent people around the state stormed the neighborhoods and fired randomly, killing an unknown number of residents.
Several homes were destroyed by fire during the assault, forcing more people to leave their homes.

Alia condemned the herders’ misdeeds in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula.
He expressed his dismay at the senseless slaughter of Benue civilians by terrorists for motives that elude him.
This administration “cannot watch people killed daily on their farmlands and in their villages for a cause very unknown to us,” the governor said.
Alia expressed her condolences to the victims’ families and urged state security forces to swiftly apprehend those believed responsible for the attacks so that they could face justice.
He urged the state’s traditional leaders and young people to remain on high alert and to immediately report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
