Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has expressed his appreciation for the recent Court of Appeal judgment that upheld his election victory, emphasizing the judiciary’s impartiality in Nigeria.
In a statement released by Aliyu’s Press Secretary, Malam Abubakar Bawa, the governor attributed the triumph to the divine will of Almighty Allah, commending the judiciary for upholding truth and justice.
Governor Aliyu called for collaboration with the opposition, urging them to join hands in ensuring the development of Sokoto State.

He reiterated his administration’s dedication to delivering democratic dividends and emphasized ongoing efforts to eliminate bandits and criminals through sustained military operations.
“We remain resolute in providing an environment conducive to development in our state,” Aliyu emphasized, seeking support from all stakeholders.
Expressing gratitude for the public’s support and prayers, the governor acknowledged their role in the state’s successes.
Governor Aliyu encouraged continued prayers, suggestions, and constructive criticisms to contribute to the state’s progress.
The Abuja appellate court affirmed the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal’s ruling on Monday, confirming Aliyu’s victory in the 2023 polls.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, dissatisfied with the tribunal’s decision, appealed to the appellate court, contesting Aliyu and Deputy Alhaji Idris Gobir’s victory in the 2023 election. (NAN)
