Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged to take bold and decisive actions to address challenges and drive progress in Rivers State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Governor Fubara made this declaration on Saturday during a condolence visit to Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, at the Government House in Bauchi.
The visit was to commiserate with Governor Mohammed over the loss of his stepmother, Hauwa Duguri, who passed away earlier this year.

Speaking during the visit, Fubara emphasized the enduring strength of his relationship with Governor Mohammed and their shared commitment to addressing pressing issues, despite a slight delay in the visit.
“I know this visit is a bit late, but the most important thing is that we are here. We are here to comfort the Bauchi governor on the loss of his mother,” he stated.
Addressing the challenges of leadership, Fubara noted the necessity of taking a firm stance when required to ensure progress and accountability.
“I know it’s not an easy task, and I know names will be called, but it gets to a time when you must come out strongly and take a position so that things will be done rightly,” he said.
The Rivers governor underscored the significance of the visit, describing it as more than just a condolence gesture.
“What I’m doing now is to show everyone that we have a good relationship and that we are in this together to ensure we set things right,” he affirmed.
Fubara also pledged continued collaboration with Governor Mohammed to foster unity and development in both states.
“This is not the end of our visit. We will continue to work together for the unity and growth of both states,” he added.
In his response, Governor Mohammed praised Fubara’s strategic leadership and resilience in managing the political landscape in Rivers State.
“We are delighted to receive you. Fubara is very calculative and strategic.
First of all, I want to thank you for the empathy you have shown; your visit has truly made me happy,” Mohammed said.
As Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Governors’ Forum, Mohammed reaffirmed Bauchi State’s unwavering support for Fubara, commending his commitment to justice and equity.
“Bauchi has always stood by you because you mean well. We will always align ourselves with justice, equity, and truth, which is why we will continue to support you,” he assured.
Mohammed also congratulated Fubara on his determination and success in asserting control over the political structure in Rivers State.
“We must congratulate you on your determination and dexterity in claiming what is rightfully yours, taking control of the party’s structure in your state, and assuming the leadership role,” he added.
