On the first day of Muharram 1445 AH, Wednesday, July 19, 2023, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State proclaimed a state holiday.
In honor of this year’s Hijrah 1445, Makinde has proclaimed today a holiday.
The Governor’s Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, issued the announcement in a circular.
Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, released the statement to the press.
In his New Year’s message, the governor extended his best wishes to Muslims around the world.
He also encouraged them to use the holiday to pray for the stability of the state and the nation as a whole.
