Governor Mbah emphasized the need for concerted efforts by leaders at all levels of government to alleviate immediate hardships and leverage economic policies for long-term prosperity.
Highlighting the achievements of his administration since assuming office in May 2023, Governor Mbah outlined key infrastructure projects and initiatives aimed at positioning Enugu State as a hub for business, investment, tourism, and living.
These include improvements in water supply, efforts to boost the state’s electricity market, initiatives to attract foreign direct investment, and measures to enhance security and infrastructure.
Governor Mbah also revealed plans for the construction of smart schools and primary healthcare centers, as well as the development of a new city and urban roads.
Mr. Governor emphasized the importance of education, healthcare, infrastructure, water supply, agriculture, and security in the state’s development agenda.
In a bid to stimulate economic growth, Governor Mbah announced a proposed budget of N521.5 billion for 2024, with a focus on capital expenditure and key sectors such as education, economic, social, infrastructure, water, agriculture, and health.
He highlighted the minimal reliance on borrowing, with a significant portion of the budget funded through internally generated revenue (IGR).
Governor Mbah reassured citizens of his administration’s commitment to their welfare, promising continued support through various measures, including palliatives, wage awards, and planned subsidised mass-transit buses.
