Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has inaugurated a seven-man panel of enquiry to investigate the activities of Edo State Polytechnic in Usen.
He charged the committee to carefully scrutinize the financial books, admission process, quality of the training programmes, lecturers, administration, the ratio of students to lecturers and come up with resolutions that will guide his administration in repositioning the institution.
Inaugurating the committee yesterday in the Government House, Benin City, the governor expressed confidence in the wealth of experience of the committee members and stressed that the state was in dire need of technical manpower that will strengthen critical areas of the state’s development plan.
Other areas to be looked into include the mode of employment and promotion. He gave the committee six weeks to submit its report
Responding, the Committee Chairperson, Professor Rose Egonmwan, thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in them and assured him that the committee would work round the clock to carry out the assignment. (EDSG)
