Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has issued a stern warning to traditional rulers in the state, threatening to take action against any who shield suspects involved in the killing of four military officers and 13 soldiers in Okuama community, Ughelli south local government area.
Governor Oborevwori made the declaration during a meeting with traditional rulers in Asaba, where he described the incident as barbaric, inhumane, and unacceptable.
He vowed that those responsible for the killings would face the full wrath of the law.

Asserting that Delta is governed by the rule of law and human decency, Governor Oborevwori urged traditional rulers to cooperate in identifying and handing over the perpetrators.
He warned that any traditional ruler found shielding criminals would face consequences.
The Governor emphasized that the government would ensure that innocent individuals were not victimized, provided that communities did not collude with the perpetrators. He also urged against any potential escalation of violence in other villages.
In response, Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, Maj. Gen. Felix Mujakperuo, (retd), expressed support for the Governor’s efforts to maintain peace and security.
He called for a judicial panel of enquiry to investigate the causes of the crisis, emphasizing the importance of community security in maintaining overall state and national security.
