Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has denounced a purported list of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee members for the state circulating on social media as fake.
Fubara, who has been at odds with his predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, vowed to keep Wike’s camp restless.
Speaking at the ground breaking of an automobile spare parts market in Port Harcourt, Fubara described the list, which includes names of Wike’s loyalists, as the work of cheap publicity seekers and agents of crisis.

“I know that a lot of you saw something flying on social media, dailies. Let me brief you, we had a meeting, and we agreed that, not just in Rivers State, but in all the states affected, that the Executive Councils (of PDP) should be extended for three months,” Fubara stated.
He clarified that the extension does not entail bringing in new names and does not imply working without the authority of the Governor.
Fubara assured that the lists circulating on social media would not stand and that a NEC meeting on April 18 would ratify the decision.
Fubara criticized those behind the fake list, stating, “So, what you are seeing is the handiwork of desperate people who like media publicity.
In fact, empty drums make the loudest noise. So, don’t bother about anything. Nothing is happening.”
He concluded by affirming his intent to keep Wike’s camp restless, saying, “You can see how restless they have been since I made just one statement, yesterday. We will continue to make them restless.
They won’t know where we are coming from. We will also continue to hit them hard the way we hit them, yesterday.”
