France captain Kylian Mbappe has insisted that he is in no personal battle with Lionel Messi. He recently had his say despite the pair continuing to climb the World Cup scoring charts, and fans have been reacting.
Dismissing suggestions of a personal rivalry with his former Paris Saint-Germain team-mate, Mbappe stated that Messi is a footballer who will always score goals.

Stressing that he does not watch what the Argentine does on the pitch, Kylian added that he is fully focused on his own team.
His words, “There is no saga [with Messi]. Leo has also scored, he scores and he will always score. I don’t watch what he does, otherwise I will have to do more. I only look at my team. When you score goals, you get closer to this sphere but I repeat: for me it’s more important to see our progression.”
