Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has received 22 high-profile defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a zonal rally in Kafanchan, Southern Kaduna.
The defectors include serving and former federal legislators, lawmakers from the Kaduna State House of Assembly, former council chairmen, state party chairmen, and opposition party flagbearers.
Speaking at the event, Governor Sani declared that the APC is making inroads into Southern Kaduna, a traditional stronghold of the PDP, attributing the shift to his administration’s commitment to justice and fairness.

“APC is taking over Southern Kaduna because we are just. We are abiding by the oath of our office by being just to every segment of Kaduna, irrespective of party affiliation or ethno-religious background,” he stated.
The governor emphasized that governance should take precedence over politics after elections, noting that leadership is about fostering unity and development.
“Our focus is to ensure peaceful coexistence, as there can be no development without peace,” he added.
Governor Sani further revealed that President Bola Tinubu is pleased with the progress in Kaduna State, expressing his desire for the state to serve as a model for peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
