A governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in the recent party’s gubernatorial primary election and 17,000 other members of the party have left the party to join the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State.

The aspirant, Yususfu Akirikwen walked out of the recent APC gubernatorial nomination alongside two other aspirants at Jolly Nyame Stadium the venue of the APC primary election.

Akirikwen, who announced his defection at a rally of the governorship candidate of the PDP, Dickson Ishaku in Jalingo, Taraba State capital, said he and the 17, 000 APC supporters had decided to leave the APC due to lack of internal democracy in the party.
