This was the first time since 1999 that the two-time Nigerian leader will not vote in an election.

Obasanjo, who openly endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, during the February 25 election, is out of the country.

It is understood that he travelled out of Nigeria 10 days before the governorship and State Assembly elections and is yet to return.
