Manchester City midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan will have a late fitness test ahead of the trip to Arsenal, Pep Guardiola has said. He recently revealed that Ake is currently back in training, and he is very close to returning to the pitch.
According to him, Gundogan has been part of the recent training sessions, but there is still no guarantee that he’ll feature vs the Gunners.
He added that Phil Foden can definitely play alongside Silva in the middle, but he’ll have to improve his game to play perfectly in that role.
His words, “Nathan is back in training on the pitch alone and is closer to coming back,”
“And Gundo had part of training session – we’ll see tomorrow how the rest of them are.”
On Foden playing with Silva, “He can play in both positions. I said many times he is so young,”
“Phil just needs time to improve playing inside.”
“When you play as a winger you have to play at one tempo and when you play inside you have to play in another one.”
“When he gets this balance, he will be 10 times more extraordinary as a player. It’s just a question of time.”
