Unknown gunmen on Friday, April 22, abducted the Permanent Secretary of the Osun State Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Adebimpe Ogunlumade.
A statement from the state’s Head of Service, Sunday Olayinka Owoeye, said Ogunlumade was kidnapped along with her driver, Oladapo Arogundade Ajani and a Director from the ministry, Tajudeen Badejoko at Obajana along Lokoja-Okene road in Kogi state.
They were said to be retuning to Oshogbo from Abuja, where she had gone to represent the State, when the incident happened.
“The officials were returning from Abuja where they attended the briefing on the State and Local Government Reforms Project; a World Bank and European Union Programme,” the statement said.
The Commissioner of Police in Kogi, Yakubu Usman, told NAN that he was not aware of the incident yet, but the Osun State Police Command spokesperson, Folasade Odoro, confirmed the kidnapping.
