The newly appointed Minister of Health by President Muhammadu Buhari, Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole, has promised changes in the health sector that will benefit Nigerians.
Adewole made the promise yesterday when he assumed duty at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja along with the Minister of State, Dr. Osagie Ehanire and Permanent Secretary, Dr. Amina Shamaki.
The minister said he was not unmindful of the inter and intra professional discontent in the sector and promised to address the challenge.
“There is quite a number of restructuring that we need to do. We will need to look at how to work with the secondary and primary health care systems because the tertiary tier is not all that we need to promote and bring good health at the door step of our people, we need to work with the state and local governments”, he said.
