Suspected enforcers of a sit-at-home order killed two residents on Tuesday in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State.
The assailants, dressed in black and wearing hoods, attacked around Old Express, off Sameck Junction, within Aba North Local Government Area.
One of the victims was identified as a caretaker, while the identity of the second victim remains unknown. No group has taken responsibility for the attack, heightening fear among residents.

According to The Nation, the gunmen went door-to-door within the compound. The caretaker, who came out to check on the visitors, was shot dead in front of his residence.
Meanwhile, InfoStride News reports that Aba residents observed the sit-at-home order for the second consecutive day, allegedly imposed by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Most businesses and commercial activities remained shut as fear of further attacks gripped the community.
The sit-at-home directive has continued to disrupt daily life in parts of the Southeast, with growing concerns over insecurity and violence associated with its enforcement.
