The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Bukar Goni Aji has expressed shock and sadness on the bomb blast which occurred early this morning at Nyanya, Abuja that targeted innocent citizens and as a result many people, including some civil servants, lost their lives while many others were injured.
The Head of Service who visited some hospitals where the victims were being attended to said that it is unfortunate that some of them died on the way to their offices where they were engaged in serving the nation.
“At this moment of great shock and sorrow, i convey the heartfelt condolences of the entire staff of the Federal Civil Service to the bereaved families, relatives and friends of those who lost their lives in the bomb blast; and wish the injured quick recovery”, he said.
Alhaji Goni Aji assured the wounded and families of the deceased civil servants that all efforts are being made to assist them at this moment of distress. He said further that Permanent Secretaries have been directed to facilitate all arrangements for the burial and payment of entitlements to the families of deceased officers in line with civil service regulations.
The Head of Service urged civil servants to be more security conscious and assist security agencies in the efforts being made to address the country’s present security challenges.
