Nigerian female footballer, Asisat Oshoala is happy about her future at Barcelona after sealing a permanent deal at the Spanish side, which runs until June 2022.
Asisat had dazzled at the club after her brief loan move from Chinese Women’s Super League side Dalian Quanjian in January.
During her loan spell, she netted eight goals in 11 games, including Barcelona’s first Uefa Women’s Champions League final goal, in a 4-1 loss to Lyon two weeks ago.
Her words to Goal, “It’s a great move for me and I’m delighted about it,”
“It’s an interesting journey to look up to. I’m looking forward to having a memorable season and a great time with the team [Barcelona].
“I’m not promising the team a league [Liga Iberdrola] title but obviously I mean a better fight and toughen the team to able to challenge for titles.
“It just happened for me the way it happened [in our final match against Lyon]. I was happy to be able to do my job as a striker.
“It was a good day in the office for me as an individual to come off the bench and score but it was not for us the team. I still believe we could have achieved more in the final as a team.”
“It’s been an interesting experience so far. It’s a great country to play football,”
“Great place to play football. For me, it’s just about how people understand the game and we adapt to the new environment differently.
“My teammates made it easy for me and the environment was acceptable and friendly. I’ve played in Europe before, so probably it wasn’t like my first time.”
