The acting Governor of Taraba state, Alhaji Abubakar Danladi, has vowed to remain loyal to his boss, promising to never betray him.
Mr. Danladi, who made this known yesterday while playing host to media practitioners in the state, said “Governor Danbaba Suntai is still my boss and I cannot betray him”.
For this reason, he disabused the minds of those calling on him to contest the governorship election of the state, insisting that, “I don’t have the interest to contest in the forthcoming elections”.
The acting governor also said he would continue to consult with his boss before taking any decision.
Worried about the precarious financial situation of the state which has made it impossible for civil servants to be paid for the past three months, the state government, according to acting Gov. Danladi, is working tirelessly round the clock to pay salaries.
He used the occasion to reiterate his commitment to operate an open door policy, urging journalists to always verify their facts with relevant authorities before going to the press.
He also called on all stakeholders to work together for the peace of the state.
Earlier, the commissioner for Information and Strategy, Emmnuel Bello and the state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Solomon Ajidiku, assured the acting governor of the readiness of journalists to be responsible in the discharge of their responsibilities.
