Inter Milan manager, Antonio Conte has come out to say that he was close to signing for Real Madrid seasons ago.
He recently revealed that even if he has had the chance to join bigger clubs in the past and failed, he is very content at Inter right now.
According to him, the time was just not right for him to join Real Madrid at the time so he opted to stay put at the club he was managing.
He added that joining a club like Real when the season had already started would’ve been a disaster waiting to happen.
His words, “In the past there was an opportunity for me to become the coach of Real Madrid, but the time was not right,”
“There have certainly been a couple of moments where I was very close to joining Real Madrid but the season had already started – it would have been so difficult to join them during the season.”
