Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan has denied reports that she slumped at an Internal Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Adamawa State and had to be revived with a bottle of Coca Cola.
Reports had it that Alhassan collapsed at the IDP camp on Monday, September 19, after an episode of hypoglycaemia, also known as low blood sugar.
Mrs Alhassan made her denial via statement released by her Director of Information, Hassan Dodo.
The statement reads in part:
“When I went into the stores to inspect the items, it was quite stuffy and I had to sit down, I even spoke to some pressmen after the inspection, I am shocked that the media is saying I slumped.”
Alhassan was in the state on a two-day fact-finding mission ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari following reports of sexual abuse of women and girl in IDP camps.
