Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes the club will make several new signings in the summer.
Liverpool failed to recruit any players during the January transfer window, despite manager Jurgen Klopp saying in November that the squad was short of wide players.
The Reds failed to record a win in January, but still sit one point off second place in the Premier League — 10 points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
Speaking on BT Sport after the Reds’ 1-1 draw with Antonio Conte’s side on Tuesday night, Gerrard said: “I think come the summer you’ll see four or five additions.”
Fellow BT Sport pundit and former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand added: “They need to add to add depth but they need to add quality too.”
Liverpool made a late attempt to sign Julian Draxler last month before he joined Paris Saint-Germain, while long-standing target Christian Pulisic signed a new contract at Borussia Dortmund.
Meanwhile, Gerrard starts his full-time role as a coach at Liverpool’s Kirkby academy on Wednesday.
