Femi Adesina, the special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity has enjoined Nigerians not to lose hope in the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government.
Adesina in an article published on his Facebook wall early hours of Friday, September 9, 2016, said he takes one-third of his legitimate salary as President Buhari’s aide.
“I am on a national assignment that has cut my legitimate annual income by one-third, so when there is hunger in the land, I go hungry too,” he said.
“When people talk of lack of money, I penny-pinch, too. Well, almost. Let nobody think those in government are insulated from what is happening in the country. At least, those who have truly come to serve.
“But those precious promises hold true any day. In the days of famine, my people shall be satisfied,” the presidential aide added.
Adesina attributed the economic crisis to mismanagement on the part of previous administrations adding that Nigerians would have a cause to rejoice soon.
He noted that President Buhari had not forgotten the promises he made during the campaign period.
Meanwhile, the federal government has urged Nigerians to do away with the old ways of doing things.
President Muhammadu Buhari stated this in Abuja on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the launch of a re-orientation campaign tagged “Change Begins With Me.”
