American rapper, Kanye West has taken to Twitter in defence of his controversial rap lyrics about Taylor Swift aired at his album listening party yesterday (February 11) in New York.
Kanye in a track from his new album ‘The Life Of Pablo’ which was previewed yesterday at Madison Square Garden in New York rapped: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. I made that bitch famous.”
The lyrics which set tongues wagging according to Kanye was not a diss but actually Taylor’s idea.
He also revealed his wife, Kim Kardashian-West and Taylor were aware and had given him their blessings.
The 38-year-old rapper also mentioned ‘bitch’ is an endearing term in Hip-Hop and people really have to quit trying to demoralize real artistes and compromising art.
Kanye West’s album listening party was also the third installation of his clothing line ‘YEEZY’. The event known as ‘Yeezy Season 3’ featured celebrities such as Young Thug, Jay Z, Naomi Campbell, Lamar Odom, Tyga and others.
Kanye West and Taylor Swift’s paths first crossed when the rapper/producer/designer in 2009 when he controversially interrupted Taylor Swift as she was about to give her thank you speech at the MTV Music Video Awards. The two artistes are now friends.
