Chelsea midfielder, Cole Palmer has come out to share that he did not plan to leave Manchester City permanently last summer. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, it was never his intention to leave Manchester City for good last summer, but the club clearly told him he could not leave on loan.
Palmer added that he eventually took the decisive step to leave on a permanent because Chelsea is a brilliant club to play for as well.
His words, “My thing was to never leave City. That was not my intention. I wanted to go on loan for a year, come back and be ready for the first team. But they said I couldn’t go on loan, either stay or you get sold. So then, Chelsea rang me. I said I wanted to go to Chelsea and I’m really happy to be here. I’m very glad I made the decision to come here.”
