As one of the world’s biggest pop stars, it’s no surprise that Rihanna has one seriously busy schedule.
In fact, the singer has revealed that not only does she struggle to ‘switch off’ at all, even in her downtime, but she usually only sleeps at all for three to four hours a night.
The This Is What You Came For star opened up about her personal life in a recent interview with Vogue Paris, as she guest edits the December issue of the magazine.
She is the star of three different covers for the magazine, shot by Jean-Paul Goude, Juergen Teller and photographer duo Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
One of the shots sees Rihanna lounging in a fluffy yellow stole and towel on her head, while another sees her in a black leather beret with netted veil and red lipstick. The third features the Only Girl (In The World) singer in black and white with tousled bangs.
The shocking tidbit could be found in the image caption for a photo showing Rihanna leaping into a pool, where she talks about what she does with her free time.
‘I have a lot of trouble switching off. Even when I get home early, which means before 1 am, I start binge-watching shows or documentaries, which I love,’ she says, according to WWD’s translation of the French text.
‘I can’t go straight to bed. As a matter of fact, I only sleep three or four hours a night.’
While Rihanna appears to be getting by without what most would consider a full night’s sleep, the CDC recommends adults between the ages of 18 and 60 get at between seven and eight hours a night.
As a part of the feature, Rihanna opened up about some of her biggest inspirations including the likes of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Tina Turner, her mother Monica Fenty and, surprisingly, Princess Diana.
