Popular singer, Folarin Odunlami, a.k.a Fola, has shared a surprising story about his arrival in Lagos State. He recently revealed that his first day in Lasgidi taught him a hard lesson he won’t forget in a hurry.
Speaking during an interview, Fola shared that he was arrested and spent the night at a police station when he first arrived in Lagos.

According to him, the frustrating experience almost made him give up on his music career, but he decided to persevere and keep going.
Admitting that adapting to the city’s fast-paced lifestyle was not easy, he maintained that his determination eventually paid off when he signed with Bella Shmurda’s Dagbani Republik.
“I relocated to Lagos in 2018 to pursue my music career. It has been rough but… I wasn’t born here, so it was so hard at first but I have adapted to both the living conditions and the hustle.
The very first day I came to Lagos, I assumed arrested. I slept at the police station. It was a long story. I don’t want to remember it. I almost gave up,” he said.
Fola’s music career took off in 2025, leading to collaborations with popular artists like Wizkid and Kizz Daniel.
His story emphasises his resilient spirit, and Nigerian youths have a lot to learn from Fola’s never-say-die attitude.
