EPL legend, Michael Owen has come out to say that he still thinks Harry Kane was wrong to join Bayern Munich. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the English striker should have remained in England this summer because moving to Germany will only earn him meaningless trophies and no EPL goal record.
Owen added that Kane had the chance to pick his next club with one year left on his Spurs contract, and he ended up picking wrongly.
His words, “We’ll probably judge Kane’s career when he retires. I made some headlines when the reports of Kane joining Bayern came out by saying that it wasn’t the right move for him. I still think that. He said he’s wanted to win trophies all his life. If he didn’t think that would happen at Spurs, he wouldn’t have signed so many contracts there and reached an age where he didn’t have control of his future. Kane then got to a stage where he had one year left on his contract, and he could have had his pick of virtually anywhere and moved there a year later. At that time, I thought that, with Ange Postecoglou and his attacking football coming in, he’d still have his future in his hands if he stayed for another year, regardless of whether things went well or not. He could’ve scored plenty of goals in this team!”
WOW.
