Chris Agu, the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) candidate for governor in Enugu State, has threatened to appeal the State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal’s ruling that Gov. Peter Mbah did not commit election fraud by forging his National Youth Service (NYS) certificate.
Agu made the pledge on Thursday in Enugu after the tribunal rejected his suit challenging Gov. Mbah of Enugu State’s alleged forging of a NYSC certificate.
Remember that the tribunal threw out the PRP’s claim that Mbah, the PDP candidate in the March 18, 2023 governorship election, forged his NYSC certificate.

The three-person tribunal headed by Justice K. M. Akano also concluded that Mbah was legitimately elected with the support of a plurality of voters.
Agu accused PDP and its candidate, Mbah, of overvoting and forging NYSC certificates.
The tribunal ruled that PRP’s assertion that a fake certificate was submitted to INEC was unsubstantiated, noting that the matter was not raised in the petitioner’s affidavit.
It further stated that the original and the allegedly faked certificate should have been presented as evidence of forgery.
However, Agu has maintained that he is rejecting the ruling on a physical and spiritual level, and that he has provided everything evidence required to continue with the case.
“I am going to appeal the judgement and pursue it to the highest court in the land,” he continued.
