The Governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose has warned men in the state not to beat their wives.
Fayose also said that he will make sure husbands who beat their wives are prosecuted.
The Governor also said “We are against violence against women in Ekiti. If you do it and I have evidence against you, you will go to prison.
“There are several ways of dealing with a woman. There is zero tolerance to violence against woman in Ekiti.”
Fayose said this while meeting with Ekiti state beneficiaries of the N5,000 welfare initiative at the Government House.
The Governor also revealed that the new Government House in Oke Ayaba, will be named after the former Governor of the Old Western Region, late Gen. Adeyinka Adebayo (Rtd).
He said “I have also directed that the new Government House and the General Hospital in Iyin Ekiti be named after him. This is not politics but governance.”
The Lagos State Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Segun Adewale recently condemned Fayose for praising Bola Tinubu in a video.
