The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has said that his administration would not be distracted from working for the over all development of the society.
A statement by Samuel Aruwan, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, made available to NAN on Monday said the governor was speaking when he met with chieftains of the APC.
According to him, government will continue to operate an open-door policy and maintain consultative leadership to take the state to greater heights.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of the state APC Caucus, Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, accompanied by the former Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Muazu Gangara.
Others were Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, former state Caretaker Chairman of the party and Alhaji Ahmed Yaro Coca-Cola, former state Chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC).
“I am happy to be with you, we will continue to advance the ideals of our party and will never be distracted from championing cogent development.
” We were elected by the citizens to work for them, to secure lives and properties, revive health, education, agriculture and the economy of our state as outlined in our campaign manifesto.
“We are on that path and by the grace of Almighty God, we will not derail.
“Our doors are wide-open to all citizens of Kaduna State, our party members and the opposition. Everyone should point to us what we are doing wrong so that we can make amends for the common good,” the governor said.
According to him, there is no one that wants to see us that is denied, we will certainly meet and further this interaction.
“Many of you here know the challenges our state has to overcome, and the need to work, work and work for the people. We must strive to bring many benefits of change.”
In their separate comments, the former Speaker, Gangara, and Dr. Baba-Ahmed thanked the governor for the invitation and promised to continue to work for the peace and development of the state.
