President Muhammadu Buhari and Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi have promised to unite to get rid of terrorism in parts of Africa.
Both leaders made this pledge in a statement by Mr. Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in Abuja on Thursday.
According to Buhari, he and Abdel Fattah met at the Aswan Forum on Sustainable Peace and Development in Africa, happening in Egypt.
He said nations of the West African sub-region are already partnering to fight terrorism by setting up a multinational task force.
His words, ”Together with other West African leaders, we are working hard to ensure that terrorism is eradicated.
”It is also important that the conflicts in North of Africa particularly in Libya do not frustrate our efforts. We seek your cooperation in this regard.”
President Fattah also thanked PMB for honoring his invitation to partake in the gathering.
He added that he is also willing to merge with the Nigerian government to battle the evil of terrorism.
