Barcelona legend Lionel Messi has dedicated his final appearance to his late father, Jorge, who passed away in August at the age of 68. He recently had his say while addressing the crowd after his final game for Argentina against Benin Republic, and fans have been reacting.
Admitting that he never stopped fighting for his nation on the pitch, Messi emphasized that representing Argentina meant everything to him for two decades.

The World Cup winner added that his retirement was a very difficult decision for him because he would have loved to play for his country forever.
His words, “It’s a lot of emotions. Obviously the first thing I think about is my dad.
All that’s left for me to do is say thank you. It’s meant so much to me to wear this shirt for 20 years. I never stopped striving, fighting, or wanting to be here.
This is a very difficult moment for me.
Not coming back will be a great sorrow. I’d love to come back forever, because playing in Argentina is the most wonderful thing that can happen to you.”
