Ibe Kachikwu is presently in a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss the recent allegations he made against the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Maikanti Baru.
According to reports, the meeting was scheduled to start at 11:30am on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at the Presidential Villa.
The meeting is undoubtedly a result of a leaked letter sent by Kachikwu to President Buhari, who is also the Minister of Petroleum, where he accused Baru of insubordination and illegal conducts.
The minister said he considered it paramount to call the attention of the president to his concerns about Baru because they’re capable of hindering progress in the petroleum sector.
Kachikwu had also complained about how attempts to secure an appointment with the president had failed.
