Dr. Musa Aliyu, the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has commenced a collaboration with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to strengthen anti-corruption efforts in Nigeria’s public sector.
This partnership aims to enhance cooperation between the two agencies in combating corruption.
According to a statement by Mrs. Azuka Ogugua, the spokesperson for the ICPC, the collaboration was initiated during a courtesy visit by Dr. Musa Aliyu and the ICPC management team to the Acting Chairman of the CCB, Mr. Aliyu Kankia, in Abuja.

The visit was driven by the ICPC’s commitment, under Dr. Aliyu’s leadership, to work with relevant stakeholders to achieve significant progress in the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda against corruption.
Dr. Aliyu emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to the fight against corruption and highlighted the importance of collaboration with the CCB, which is a pivotal anti-corruption agency recognized in the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
He expressed the ICPC’s readiness to consolidate and improve the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two agencies to enhance their joint efforts.
In response, Mr. Kankia, the Acting Chairman of the CCB, welcomed the collaboration, noting that it was a positive step towards strengthening the fight against corruption.
He emphasized the significance of cooperation and understanding in tackling corruption, highlighting the role of the CCB in matters related to asset declaration and verification as outlined in the constitution.
The collaboration between the ICPC and the CCB underscores a united front in the fight against corruption, reflecting a shared commitment to upholding integrity and transparency in Nigeria’s public sector.
