Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South senatorial district, has announced his intention to run for the governorship of Anambra State in 2025.
Speaking to journalists at his Nnewi residence on Sunday, Senator Ubah criticized the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and past administrations for what he described as a lack of significant development and policies to uplift the state.
Ubah emphasized his commitment to a single term if elected, stating that he believes four years are sufficient to implement his plans for the state.
He expressed confidence in his ability to provide quality, robust, and direction-driven leadership, intending to prioritize local government elections within four months of assuming office.
The senator promised to reduce the influence of the state and local governments in governance, aiming for a more autonomous and simultaneous development across the 21 local government areas.
Addressing concerns about his commitment, Ubah assured the public of his sincerity, citing his reputation for keeping promises.
He stressed the importance of having assets in the state as a requirement for governance, highlighting his investments in Anambra and his desire to see the state prosper.
Ubah emphasized the need for a change in leadership, advocating for candidates with a track record and a passion for development.
He reiterated his long-standing commitment to his manifesto, emphasizing its consistency since 2013.
Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s declaration sets the stage for a potentially competitive governorship race in Anambra State, with a focus on development, governance reform, and a promise of accountable leadership.
