Businessman Alhaji Aliko Dangote has criticised the Coalition of Northern Youths (CNY) who threatened to evict Igbo residents in the north from the region.
The coalition issued the threatening statement on June 6, 2017, advising Igbos living in the northern region of the country to leave before October 1, 2017.
The billionaire has dismissed the threats, saying it is a “senseless warning.”
He reacted to the issue while receiving a team of business executives from the Lagos Business School (LBS) at his multi-billion dollars refinery and petrochemical projects in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
The Chairman of Dangote Group was quoted by The Nation as saying, “Some guys who have no relevance and values came out to issue a warning that Igbos should leave the North.
“I am surprised everybody started talking about this nonsense. Why are we talking about it?
“Obviously, in a place where there is a lot of joblessness, it is expected that this kind of jobless people would come out with all sorts of anger.
“We understand the reasons why they are angry, but they cannot justify their action when they have decided not to work.
“They only issue senseless warning to keep themselves relevant.”
