The Ikere Development Forum, (IDF) a socio-cultural group with the sole objective of ensuring the development of Ikere-Ekiti, has extolled Governor Ayodele Fayose for his generosity towards St. Louis Grammar School, describing the gesture as an indication of the governor’s determination to redeem the dwindling fortune of education in the state regarded as the Fountain of Knowledge.
The Forum, whose National President is Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN at its Lagos interactive meeting held at the weekend noted that the governor has started on a very good note and urged him not to be distracted by the antics of enemies of Ekiti development but to remain focused on implementing the developmental agenda his government has for the state.
The National Vice President of IDF, Mr. Femi Ekundayo congratulated the Governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose and his Deputy, Dr.
Kolapo Olusola, who incidentally is from Ikere and a member of the forum on their electoral victory and prayed for a successful and peaceful tenure of office.
He appealed to the government to assist Ikere community overcome its security challenges by reinforcing the security operatives and apparatus in the town to fortify it against incessant invading by armed robbers gangs who now make bank robbery annual event in the town.
Mr. Ekundayo also called on the governor to consider the re-award of the Ikere- Ondo State boarder dualization road project which the government terminated recently due to non-performance by the contractor, noting that the people will not want it to become an abandoned project.
The Forum Vice President who assured Governor Fayose and his deputy of the support of the Ikere people said with the governor’s dynamism, connections and strong will, he is bound to be successive and leave Ekiti better than he met it at the end of his tenure in office.
Speaking at the forum, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kolapo Olusola thanked Ikere Development Forum for its support for Governor Fayose all the while and for appreciating the good work of the governor since his inauguration as the governor of the state for a second term.
He assured Ikere-Ekiti people of unprecedented developments that will override whatever all the previous administration in the state had done for the town during the government of Governor Ayodele Fayose.
Dr. Olusola disclosed that beside the fact that Ikere-Ekiti comes next to Ado-Ekiti in terms of expansiveness and population, Governor Fayose has a passion for Ikere and has a lot of developmental plans lined up for the town.
He also informed the gathering that in less than a few weeks of Fayose’s administration, St. Louis Grammar School, Ikere-Ekiti has benefited a cash gift of over a million naira from the governor himself while the rehabilitation of the road network on the school compound has started in earnest in line with the Governor’s promise when he visited the school last month.
The number two citizen of the state therefore urged the people of the town, both at home and in the Diaspora to sustain their love and support for Governor Fayose and his government in his giant strides to take Ekiti State to the next level of development.
