The Kogi State Government has assured commercial motorcycles riders, popularly called Okada, in the state that his administration would not ban them.
Governor Idris Wada, who gave the assurance weekend when the state leadership of Nigeria Motorcycle Transport Union (NMTU) paid him a courtesy call, said his administration would rather do everything possible to assist them.
The governor insisted his administration was not mulling the ban of Okada because the union is contributing to the development of the state.
Wada, however, called on the union members to always conduct themselves peacefully and avoid actions that could tarnish their image.
Earlier, the state union chairman, Comrade Olaniyan Emmanuel Bamidele, assured the governor of their support.
